Obesity hardwired

Further to our article `The nature of food during pregnancy' comes another related follow up article entitled Obesity 'down to faulty brain wiring' Sebastien Bouret, an assistant professor of neuroscience at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles states conclusively that appetite and obesity could well be `hard wired' into the brains of individuals from birth. The problem seems to stem from behavioral patterns within the brain that interfere with leptin production, a hunger suppressing and energy metabolising hormone that regulates appetite.
